Beautification


Ontario Street Beautification Project.

Long-standing participation in the City of Rochester Clean Sweep program throughout Marketview Heights.

Martin G. Pedraza Community Garden


Every year MVHCAP plants, tends, and harvests between 1,500–2,000 lbs of fresh fruits and vegetables, distributed FREE throughout the neighborhood and to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and churches.

Volunteers are welcome throughout the growing season — stop by, help out, and share in the harvest! Every summer Saturday morning at 161 First Street, Rochester, NY 14605.

Neighborhood Advocacy

Starting with input from neighbors at monthly Town Hall meetings, MVHCAP is a tireless advocate for issues that affect our community — with a focus on affordable home ownership and resident empowerment.
Recent projects include:


Completing the Urban Renewal District Redevelopment Plan (N. Union to Scio Street).

Inclusion of owner-occupied housing in Inner Loop North redevelopment.

Neighborhood safety and crime prevention with Rochester Police Department Sector R.

Collaboration on New Bethel housing project and Reimagining the Alleyways initiative.
